FEEDING TRIALS
ELOAQUA has an experimental infrastructure dedicated to the validation of feed additives and nutritional technologies for aquaculture.
Studies are conducted in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) under controlled conditions and rigorous water quality monitoring, ensuring data reliability and reproducibility.
The facility is prepared for studies with commercially important aquaculture species, including Nile tilapia and rainbow trout.
OUR TEAM
Veterinarian and Animal Scientist with expertise in functional nutrition, immunology, and fish health. Holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology applied to animal production from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), including a training period at Texas A&M University (TAMU). Works in the development and validation of feed additives and nutritional technologies for aquaculture, with experience in immunological biomarkers, experimental challenge models, and biological evaluation of functional ingredients.
Agronomist and Animal Scientist with expertise in nutrition, management, and aquaculture production systems. Holds a Ph.D. in Animal Science from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), with experience in fish performance, health, and production systems, including biofloc technology (BFT). Works in the planning and execution of experimental studies focused on the evaluation of ingredients, feed additives, and nutritional technologies for aquaculture.
Veterinarian and Bachelor in Social Communication, with a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and postdoctoral training in Animal Biodiversity from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). Acts as a scientific advisor in projects related to fish health, welfare, stress, and experimental ethics, contributing to the development and execution of applied studies in aquaculture.
